I saw Mario wearing his new State Champion jersey, he looks great in it. He stepped up one class riding twice the distance of previous races. The insiders story says his tires were too whompy for the muddy course but Mario does not make excuses. Read more about the race at his blog.

Hell Yeah!           

 That’s all I’ve got to say. Hell Yeah!

This past weekend was Blast The Mass in Snowmass, Colorado. Kickass race like usual, it’s another one of my favorite courses. Hard fire road uphill with some single track mixed in a some awesome singletrack descents. I raced it last year and took a third place finish.. not this year. I took 1st place with 2nd finishing 9 minutes and 30 seconds behind me. I completed in the 7.5 miles in just over 46 min. Not bad but could have been faster. I was too damn tired for it.

Just fifteen years old and possessed, nice kid too, and sweet, he wrote me an email about it today. Did I generate suspense? Any part time exorcists reading through this? Don’t freak, it’s better news than you think, he’s possessed with a passion for bike racing. His email follows:

My dad said you wanted me to send you all of my usa cycling rankings and stuff. First off I started a blog awhile back after angel fire and put all of my races on it and stuff, blog. I can’t email you an actual link to my ranking because you have to be a member to see it but i’ll just put it here..”

1. In the state of Colorado I am ranked #2
2. In my riding age (16) in the nation I am ranked #3
3. In all juniors (1-18) in the nation, I am #15
4. And in a beginners (1-dinosaurs) i am ranked #52
