
We floated 15 miles to our overnight pullout, it was cold that first night in camp. Then a snow storm kicked in the next morning, high cold water splashes, chill wind, falling snow. We stopped for a rest and thats when the unstoppable shivering set in on the steep banks of the Dolores River in Colorado.

Some time ago I began to consider a return trip to Australia. Having spent most of the Summer during my last trip there within a few hundred miles of the coast, the thought of the Outback in Winter, the vast Red Center, long skyline, and dark silence attracted me.

I saw Mario wearing his new State Champion jersey, he looks great in it. He stepped up one class riding twice the distance of previous races. The insiders story says his tires were too whompy for the muddy course but Mario does not make excuses. Read more about the race at his blog.
